Taking Levitra at the same time each day will help you remember to take it when you need to. You will usually take it in the morning or at the same time of the same day. You can take it with or without food, however, if you prefer not to take it at the same time, you can take it with a heavy meal. However, do not take it more than once a day unless your doctor tells you to. You can take it with or without food but always stick to the prescribed dosage. The usual starting dose is 10 mg (1 tablet) taken with meals. The dosage for oral use is 5 mg (20 tablet) taken once daily. Your doctor may decide on how much to take after checking with your doctor.
If you miss a dose of Levitra, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.
If you take more than prescribed, call your doctor or get emergency medical help right away. Taking too much of Levitra may cause serious side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, stomach upset, nausea, headache and/or vomiting. These may be mild and temporary and can be managed by you if they occur.
Some common side effects of Levitra, which include: nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, increased or decreased sexual ability, sexual impotence, headache, or difficulty in achieving an erection.

The American Heart Association has published guidelines on the use of Levitra (vardenafil) for men with androgenic alopecia. The most recent guidelines were published in a clinical trial of men who took Levitra for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. The trial showed that men who took Levitra for erectile dysfunction (ED) for a year were more likely to experience improved erectile function and a decrease in urinary incontinence. A total of 806 men who had taken Levitra for ED were included in the study. The participants were randomized to receive either 5 milligrams of Levitra on either a daily basis, as needed, for 5 consecutive days, or placebo (sildenafil). The investigators were interested in the number of men who were taking Levitra for erectile dysfunction in the study and whether the participants would respond to Levitra on a daily basis.
Levitra is a prescription drug that is available by prescription only. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Levitra in November 1999 for use in the treatment of erectile dysfunction. In November 2009, FDA approved the first of its own generic drugs, Vardenafil. These drugs are phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors that work by increasing blood flow to the penis, and work by increasing blood flow to the penis only when an erection is sexual. In patients with ED, Vardenafil is not as effective as Levitra, but it is less expensive and less likely to be used in those with ED.
